Youri Tielemans mooted as Aston Villa penalty taker despite what happened for Belgium

Ty Bracey believes Youri Tielemans will take penalties for Aston Villa this season despite missing one for Belgium against France on Monday 14 October.

The Red Devils’ captain for the night will have been disappointed to see his spot-kick fly over Mike Maignan’s goal before eventually falling to a 2-1 defeat.

Despite this, Villa podcaster Bracey, who features on the Villa Social, thinks that the 27-year-old will be the Villans’ penalty taker.

This is yet to be seen in B6 with Jhon Duran taking the only kick from 12 yards this season in the EFL Cup against Wycombe Wanderers, in a heavily changed starting XI.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It happens. I don’t know many penalty takers, if any, who go through their career without missing one.

I have no worries there, it isn’t convenient that he has missed a penalty but I still think he’ll end up being Villa’s penalty taker.

You know, it just happens in football and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be taking our penalty kicks definitely.

Youri Tielemans mooted as Aston Villa penalty taker after Belgium miss

The former Leicester City ace has become one of the key players at Villa Park this season after a positive first campaign in the West Midlands.

This form has seen his importance grow for the national side but his penalty miss will certainly be disappointing to the midfielder.

After scoring in the Champions League for the Villans this season, his form has been positive at club level which will only be improved if the Belgian starts scoring penalties regularly for Unai Emery’s side.

In other Aston Villa news, one star has done very little to impress Emery with what he did during the international break.
