Jacob Ramsey must play for Aston Villa v Bayern Munich after new admission
Dan Bardell believes Jacob Ramsey must play consistently for Aston Villa after an injury-ridden season last time out.
The Englishman has had a shaky start to the campaign but has performed well in spells which will make him hopeful of featuring against Bayern Munich on Wednesday 2 October.
Against Ipswich Town, the 23-year-old wasn’t at his best which has seen fans discuss whether he should start in the Champions League.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks the attacking midfielder needs consistent game time to get to his best level.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “Ramsey needs rhythm and time after last season. The worst thing that could happen to him is another bitty season.
“If he gets games, he will regain his level and the consistency that can only come with a run in the team.
“He’s not at his best level yet, but he will get there. He’s too good not to.“
Jacob Ramsey could feature for Aston Villa v Bayern Munich
Unai Emery’s side struggled as a whole against the Tractor Boys on Sunday afternoon (29 September) with a draw being a fair result in the end.
The academy product was not alone in having a difficult performance but he did stay on the pitch for the whole 90 minutes.
With just a three-day turnaround to the clash against Bayern, the Villa boss may look to make some changes to keep legs fresh among the squad.

As a boyhood Villa fan, Ramsey will be keen to start or at least feature in the clash which does feel likely given John McGinn’s injury concern.
