Aston Villa injury update on Tyrone Mings emerges amid ACL developments

Aston Villa are being patient with Tyrone Mings as he returns from a long lay-off after his ACL injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the best way to handle his return would be to steadily increase his participation in games and see how he responds to the added minutes.

Unai Emery also stated that the club plans to make the 31-year-old play 45 minutes for the under-21s to get him ready for first-team football.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “Emery said that he’s returned to full training so that’s a huge positive.

The ideal way to handle his progression will be steadily and methodically increasing his participation, assessing how he responds, and then eventually going into bounce matches – which appears to be the plan from the club.

He’s been away for an extended period after a major ACL injury so patience pays in the final stages.

Aston Villa are right to ease Tyrone Mings back from injury

It makes a lot of sense for Villa to be conservative with Mings’ return to football.

He has been out for several months and rushing him back to the intensity of the Premier League would be devastating.

Hopefully, there are no more setbacks and he’s ready to make some kind of return on the other side of the international break.
