Aston Villa in ‘best hands’ as Damian Vidagany shares behind the scenes PSR update

Dan Bardell believes Aston Villa are in the best hands after Damian Vidagany shared an update on how PSR hampered the club during the transfer window.

The Daily Mail spoke to the Villans’ Director of football on 3 September who revealed the club faced a 10-point deduction if they had breached the Premier League’s PSR regulations before June 30.

This saw Villa sell Douglas Luiz to Juventus for £42millon [David Ornstein, 22 June] while making just four signings who will remain in B6 for the campaign.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks the transfer business was well conducted despite the PSR problems that have been endured.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “I think all Villa fans were aware of the circumstances and knew it was going to be a difficult summer.

On the pitch, the club is in the best hands they could possibly be with excellent people working at the club.

I think it is good that they came out and spoke to journalists to allow them to write pieces that are informed. There was no great surprise but it came across that with Monchi, Vidagany and Unai Emery the club is in capable hands.

Fans now can understand why one or two more didn’t come in during the window.

Villa have acted very astutely in the window and I think fans appreciate that they have come out and spoken about it.

The window has been easier to deal with thanks to the transparency that the likes of Vidagany and Mochi in a refreshing move from the club.
