Emi Buendia will be demanding more first-team minutes from Unai Emery after an excellent performance against Fleetwood Town in his Aston Villa return.
The Young Lions secured their first three points in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, winning 3-2 thanks to a late Kyrie Pierre goal against the League Two side.
The Villans did go two goals up in the first half before the home side grabbed two quick second-half goals to level the proceedings.
It was a positive night all around for Villa supporters as Buendia made his long-awaited return from injury in a competitive match and capped it off with a top performance.

You would never have known that the attacking midfielder hadn’t played competitively for over 12 months given his level of performance.

Throughout the game, Buendia was able to maintain an 81% pass accuracy with one of his passes being listed as key.
The former Norwich City man looked sharp when taking aim at goal as he took three shots with all of them on target (100%) and two going in.
His dribbling was also on point which saw the Fleetwood defenders given no choice but to foul the attacker as he was brought down five times.
It has to be said that, as impressive as these stats are they are against League Two opposition but has still given Emery a decision to make after the international break.
