Jhon Duran prediction emerges after Aston Villa transfer developments – ‘I wouldn’t be surprised’
Bryan King has backed Jhon Duran to continue his goalscoring form for Aston Villa against Everton on Saturday (14 September).
The ex-Villa scout claims the recent transfer speculation surrounding the 20-year-old is likely to “have lit a fire beneath him”.
Duran has scored twice for Villa from the bench across three Premier League matches this season, with both strikes proving decisive.
And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – feels that the Colombian forward has a point to prove.
“That transfer speculation might have lit a fire beneath him,” King said.
“All of a sudden, it looked like he would be moving away from Villa. He had a point to prove against West Ham, he scored against Leicester, I wouldn’t be surprised if he scores against Everton too.
“All of this transfer talk seems to have sparked him into life. Any forward scoring goals in the Premier League is a plus for any football club.”
Jhon Duran to score for Aston Villa against Everton?
Duran looked as though he would complete a switch away from Villa this summer. The striker was constantly linked with a move away from the club throughout the transfer window, with speculation continuing to swirl until the final days (Give Me Sport, 27 August).
As a result, Unai Emery probably wasn’t counting on the forward to be a key player for Villa this season.
However, Duran’s two goals have so far proved crucial for Emery’s side in the Premier League.

He netted the winner in a 2-1 victory against West Ham on Saturday (17 August) and scored the second as Villa once again claimed a 2-1 win, this time against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium (31 August).
As a result of his form, it might not be long until Duran is handed a first start of the season.
