Jens Hjerto-Dahl claim emerges as Aston Villa want to seal midfielder transfer
Aston Villa need to consider three things if they sign Jens Hjerto-Dahl and want him to avoid injury concerns, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that as the Tromso midfielder will be moving from a less physical league, it will take extra effort from the club to ensure he fits in well.
This comes after HITC reported on 15 August that Villa are keen on signing the 18-year-old midfielder before the transfer window closes.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “I’d say there are three things Villa have to look at to ensure he stays injury free.
“Firstly, they must keep in mind the increase in intensity between leagues. You can manage that through methodical fitness training and an introduction to games.
Secondly, the unique fact is that teenagers are still developing both mentally and physically. This is where methodical, planned development pathways are important.
“Thirdly, big jumps in minutes can lead to injuries as well. This again goes back to the methodical planning of that player’s integration into training and match days.“
Aston Villa appear to eye Jens Hjerto-Dahl as one for the future
It’s evident that Villa aren’t looking at the 6ft 4inch tall Norwegian midfielder as one for the 2024/25 season.
However, he’s on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs so it’s evident that there is something there to work with and Villa must keep tabs if he does not leave this summer.
Given his height, he’s a natural fit in the Premier League and it will be about honing his skills which the Villa Park outfit can certainly look to do.

Whether or not they manage to secure his services ahead of several other clubs, remains to be seen.
In other Aston Villa news, a behind-the-scenes decision has been backed as Villa have reached an agreement for a deadline-busting first-team transfer.
