Aston Villa want up to £20million as Diego Carlos exit transfer talks very advanced

Bryan King has insisted that Fulham will not pay what Aston Villa did to sign Diego Carlos before the August 30 deadline.

The ex-Villa scout believes that the club will be looking for between £14million and £20million to let the Brazilian move down to London, with a loan-to-buy even mooted.

It comes after Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday 11 August that the two clubs are close to an agreement with talks now very advanced.

“Fulham are not going to pay what Villa paid for Carlos,” he exclusively told Villa News.

“Villa will be looking for somewhere between £14-20million, and they’d be fortunate to get that if I’m honest.

“I could see this working out as a loan with an option to make the move permanent. However, I just can’t see Villa getting back what they paid for him, not to Fulham anyway.

“He only has two years on his contract left, which makes Villa’s position even more difficult. They would be very lucky to get anywhere near £26million, they won’t get that, that is for sure.”

Aston Villa to sell Diego Carlos

Dan Bardell suggested that any offers could be too good to turn down for the 31-year-old, due to his big wages and standing in the squad currently.

Unai Emery has overseen a very busy summer transfer window already, and there are no signs of that slowing down ahead of the Premier League season.

With Champions League football ahead, the Spaniard is making sure he has the very best available to him, with Carlos potentially the next heading out of the door.

In other Aston Villa news, Unai Emery will be desperate for Tyrone Mings to make a return after what Pau Torres did against Dortmund.
