Jhon Duran scuppers transfer from Aston Villa after West Ham transfer development

Dan Bardell doesn’t believe Jhon Duran will join West Ham from Aston Villa after signing Niclas Fullkrug.

The Colombia international was spotted on an Instagram livestream showing a gesture related to the Hammers on 26 July.

Despite this, interest in the 20-year-old has cooled from the East Londoners after they confirmed the signing of Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested that the Villa forward has harmed his transfer prospects with his social media antics.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “West Ham are not going to sign Fullkrug and Jhon Duran.

His “Hammers” gesture on social media now looks even more ill-advised. Villa now need to do their best to get him gone.

He’s a bad influence around the place by all accounts and his recent antics aren’t good. It isn’t the first time that he’s caused issues so he’s got to go somewhere.

West Ham and Chelsea have moved on to other transfers that are done or really close. Even AC Milan have ended interest and gone and signed Morata.

Duran isn’t doing himself any favours with the way he is behaving because it’s giving clubs second thoughts.

Aston Villa fans are done with Jhon Duran

It looks like there is almost no way back for Duran at Villa Park with his gesture to West Ham fans being the final straw.

At 20, he scored the goals which ultimately secured Champions League football for the Villans on an unforgettable night at Villa Park.

This memory has now been tarnished by how the forward has behaved over the duration of the summer transfer window.

The Colombian has been involved in various bizarre social media incidents including liking media relating to Chelsea and deleting posts involving Villa.

These were frustrating moments for supporters but as a young footballer in a new country and league, some unprofessionalism was somewhat expected.

Now Duran has shown a true lack of respect for the club that took a chance on him 18 months ago out of the MLS.

It is yet to be seen whether or not Unai Emery will give him a chance or a new club will come in for him but there is a long road to win over the Villa faithful now.
