Aston Villa claim emerges amid new Nico Williams transfer twist
Aston Villa will focus on Nico Williams’ overall fitness rather than the adductor injury he suffered last season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while the Athletic Bilbao winger, 22, missed a few games last season because of an adductor issue, it is unlikely to derail a potential transfer.
GiveMeSport reported on 24 April that Unai Emery is a fan of the Spain attacker who starred at Euro 2024 and wants to bring him to Villa Park.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“Considering Nico was able to play through the end of the season and into the Euros very effectively, very unlikely that there is anything to be worried about in terms of the adductor injury he had last season.
“As for testing, yes there are multiple tests they can do – including manual and imaging – to assess the adductor.
“Villa will likely look at his overall fitness ahead of signing him and focus on the issue to see if there’s anything, but it should be routine and cause no problem getting the transfer over the line.“
Aston Villa must sign Nico Williams if they get the chance
Villa should sign Williams as he is a versatile attacker who can play on the wing or as a forward, providing Emery with tactical flexibility.
The Spaniard’s pace, dribbling and goal-scoring ability make him a threat in the final third.
His performance at Euro 2024 showcased his potential on the big stage.

Williams’ addition would significantly bolster Villa’s attacking options and help them compete in the Champions League.
