Jhon Duran to face Aston Villa disciplinary action after ‘disrespectful’ incident
Aston Villa are set to investigate Jhon Duran after he appeared to make a West Ham gesture, according to BirminghamLive.
The newspaper reported via their website on Saturday (27 July) that Duran, 20, is deemed to have been “disrespectful to the club, his team-mates and supporters” after crossing his arms to imitate the West Ham badge on a live stream.
It is understood that the Colombian striker, who is currently on holiday after representing his country at Copa America, is likely to face disciplinary action from the Villans.
BirminghamLive adds that Duran is trying to force his way out of Villa Park in a bid to win more game time elsewhere and West Ham have been linked with signing him.
What happens to Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran now?
It seems as though Duran is stuck at Villa Park for now.
West Ham insider Sean Whetstone reported via his X account on Saturday that the Hammers have walked away from negotiations with the Villans because they’re unwilling to budge on their £40million valuation of him.
It’s claimed the Hammers are “ready to throw in the towel”, leaving Duran high and dry and looking very stupid for his latest social media escapade.
Villa fans are bound to be losing patience with the childish striker.
It’s fair enough that he wants to play more and that he doesn’t expect to at Villa with Ollie Watkins at the club. But this isn’t the way you go about it.
It wouldn’t be a massive shock if this Hammers gesture on a livestream played a role in West Ham’s decision to back out of a deal because they can’t be bothered to have someone as idiotic as Duran at their club.
