Jaden Philogene exit already speculated at Aston Villa after official transfer announcement

Bryan King has suggested Jaden Philogene could once again be sold by Aston Villa after returning to the club.

The ex-Villa scout believes the forward’s aim must be to make an impression on Unai Emery.

Aston Villa announced via their official club website on Friday (19 July) that they had re-signed Philogene from Hull City.

And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – has suggested there is a lot of pressure on the 22-year-old.

“If he is moving to the football club, his aim has to be regular first-team football,” King said.

“However, that is never a guarantee. If your performances at your previous club were outstanding, then it of course helps.

“But for Philogene, he needs to prove to Emery that he is the man for that position. If he doesn’t, then I imagine he will be off once again.”

Jaden Philogene must make an impression on Unai Emery at Aston Villa

Despite only being sold to Hull City last summer, Villa have already opted to bring Philogene back to the club.

The player will no doubt be delighted, but there is now also a lot of pressure on him.

Villa have put their faith in Philogene by re-signing him, and the young winger will therefore be desperate to prove that the club made the right decision.

He caught the eyes of many while playing in the Championship with Hull City, but he will now be playing Premier League and UEFA Champions League football.

It is a huge step up, and as a result, Philogene will need to raise his game. Otherwise, he faces being let go by Villa for a second time.
