Brais Mendez medical verdict shared as Aston Villa want to seal transfer

Real Sociedad attacking midfielder Brais Mendez is unlikely to have issues clearing his Aston Villa medical, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that despite the two minor setbacks the 27-year-old had last season, he appears to be in pretty good condition to complete a transfer this summer.

This comes after Express reported on 22 June that Villa have made an enquiry over the availability of the Spain international.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

He had an elbow injury and a metatarsal fracture last season, but none of them were significant.

Based on less than a month missed, very doubtful that he had a procedure on the metatarsal.

He returned to action and put in a decent amount of minutes as well.

All in all, doubt there will be any issue with the medical.

Aston Villa must prioritise signing Brais Mendez

Signing Mendez would be an important move because he offers versatility in midfield as he’s able to play centrally or out wide.

His impressive stats last season, with 11 goal contributions in La Liga and four more in the Champions League, showcase his attacking prowess and ability to impact games.

The 27-year-old’s experience in a top European league like La Liga, coupled with his four international caps for Spain adds quality and depth to Villa’s squad as they prepare for Champions League football.
