Aston Villa given green signal as Kelechi Iheanacho transfer development emerges

Kelechi Iheanacho will not arrive at Aston Villa with a risk of being susceptible to injuries, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Nigeria international may not have played as many minutes as he would’ve liked in terms of his match fitness, with his prior experience in the Premier League will hold him in good stead.

It’s also understood that Monchi has held talks with the 27-year-old’s representatives over a summer move [Football Insider].

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

He’s not had any injuries that would be red flags for any club looking to sign him, but he has not played too many minutes.

The lack of game time can certainly be a worry so the key is he needs to be bedded in gradually.

He is moving to the Premier League from the Championship but he’s played there before so will understand the demands of the Premier League.

The time to adapt will certainly be lower and it will also depend on how many minutes are expected from him.”

Aston Villa must consider free transfer of Kelechi Iheanacho

Iheanacho can consider himself a Premier League veteran of sorts, making 196 appearances in the top flight, scoring 42 goals and providing 25 assists.

He’s also made over 50 appearances for his national team and that sort of experience can always come in handy.

While he’s not a prolific scorer known for consistent match-winning performances, he could be an important utility player and signing him on a free transfer is a low-risk deal.
