Aston Villa transfer verdict emerges on Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa

Aston Villa target Federico Chiesa’s injuries are more to do with his performance setbacks rather than anything to do with his ACL rupture, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the 2022 setback was the major one for him but he appears to have recovered from it and it should not hinder any club from signing him this summer

This comes after Villa podcaster Ty Bracey has told the club to secure the services of the 26-year-old.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientisttold Villa News:

He has had serious issues with his knee in the past and any club signing him will be aware of it.

“The major injury is the ACL rupture in 2022 but he does look to have recovered from it.

That being said, there are going to be natural knock on effects of that and based on the smaller issues he’s had, I’d venture they are related to that full return to performance following ACL reconstruction than anything else.

Aston Villa must avoid shelling out big money on Federico Chiesa

Rio Ferdinand raved over him at the last EUROs which Italy won and urged English clubs to secure his services.

He said, as quoted by the Metro: “He’s a huge player and he’s been linked with a few clubs in England. I’m sure they’re thinking ‘Why didn’t we get him?’

“He’s just a fantastic footballer. The intensity with which he plays with, we saw in the Euros he was the main goal threat for the Italians who went on to win the tournament.”

However, the 26-year-old has not quite lived up to the expectations of him and has failed to hit double figures in goals in any of his league campaigns.

He also may struggle to adapt to the physicality of the English game and he’s likely to cost big money, so Villa need someone who can hit the ground running.
