Unai Emery to make Joao Felix shine as Aston Villa transfer edges closer
Bryan King claims Aston Villa manager Unai Emery could get the best out of João Félix.
The ex-Villa scout is not the biggest fan of the Atletico Madrid forward.
According to a report from Spanish newspaper Sport (8 July), Villa have “taken a step forward” to sign Félix.
And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes Emery could help to turn the 24-year-old’s career around.
“He struggled in the Premier League last time,” King said.
“From what I’ve seen of him, including at the Euros, he is not a player who fills me with confidence or ignites me with excitement.
“However, he would be working with Emery, and that is a manager who I believe could perhaps bring the best out of him.”
Would João Félix succeed at Aston Villa under Unai Emery?
At one point Félix looked destined to become the next big thing in football.
He has failed to kick on since leaving Benfica. However, at the age of 24, there is still plenty of time for the Portugal international to turn things around and fulfil his potential.
Although he struggled last time out in the Premier League, he was playing in a very chaotic environment with Chelsea.
Villa would offer the forward much more stable surroundings as well as the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League.
Most importantly, Emery might just be the right man to help Félix get back on track.

The Villa boss has a proven track record of improving players, and he could therefore be the perfect person to guide Félix through a difficult stage in his career.
In other Aston Villa news, the club have been praised for their transfer strategy as they are linked with a 16-year-old gem.
