Aston Villa told to re-sign Tammy Abraham as £10m+ transfer claim made

Ty Bracey has urged Aston Villa to sign Tammy Abraham from Roma this summer as a potential striker replacement for Jhon Duran.

The Colombian has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the early days of the transfer window with a swap deal being mooted [The Telegraph].

Matt Law has suggested (13 June) that the Villans would assess the Englishman as a replacement option if Duran departs this summer.

Villa podcaster Bracey believes that Abraham would jump at a return to Villa Park in a move that would be positive for both parties.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “He could be available for between £10m and £20m and I’d definitely take him.

I don’t think that is a bias because he’s played for us before and did well to help get us promoted. I think there’s a good player there and one that already loves Villa.

He would probably like to come back to England after having spent the last few years living in Italy. I think that he would represent good business.

Anyone that Unai Emery wants to sign will be a good addition to the squad so I think he would be a great signing.

Aston Villa interested in Tammy Abraham reunion

Abraham achieved cult status in his time with the club despite being on loan from Chelsea for just one season in the Championship.

He was a driving force alongside the likes of Jack Grealish and John McGinn as Dean Smith’s side were promoted to the Premier League.

The striker has gone on to play in the top division with the Blues before moving to Serie A and performing well for Roma.

They now need to sell stars this summer as, like Villa, they need to raise funds to comply with financial rules.

If Duran is to leave and move to Stamford Bridge then the Villans are going to be in need of another striker, even if Cameron Archer stays.

Abraham is still only 26 so would still be able to provide Emery with many years of service as Villa embark on a season in the Champions League.

With a fee in the region of £20m being mooted, Monchi could go further wrong than the former Villa man.
