Aston Villa fans angry with ‘very odd’ official announcement after previous at Everton
Bryan King claims Aston Villa supporters won’t be best pleased with the club’s decision to change their crest.
The ex-Villa scout doesn’t understand why the West-Midlands side has once again announced a change.
Villa unveiled the club’s new crest via X on Friday (31 May).
And having only made a change in 2022, King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – doesn’t understand the need for another one.
“That isn’t going to go down well at all,” King said.
“When I worked with Everton, we went through something similar, and it didn’t go down well.
“Why would they want to introduce a new crest? The last change didn’t go down well, very odd.”
Aston Villa supporters will need time to get used to the change
A club’s crest is a very important thing for supporters.
It represents the identity of their team and isn’t something which should be played around with too much.
Clubs have been known to make crest changes in recent times, but two in as many years is odd.
What Villa supporters must focus on is the fact that this change is part of a new exciting era under Unai Emery.
And considering the way things have gone on the field as of late, fans will be more likely to forgive the club’s decision.
