Aston Villa told Crysencio Summerville transfer price after Leeds United development
Alan Hutton has told Aston Villa and NSWE that a £30million transfer offer would likely tempt Leeds United into parting company with Crysencio Summerville this summer.
The Dutchman enjoyed an incredible season under Daniel Farke in the Championship, scoring 21 goals and laying on 10 assits in all competitions, but the Whites missed out on promotion as they were beaten by Southampton in the playoff final.
Summerville is now expected to leave Elland Road this summer [Phil Hay, 26 May] and while Villa are yet to be credited with an interest, they were previously keen to secure his signature during the January transfer window [Fabrizio Romano, 25 December].
Although Hutton assumes Leeds will be desperate to keep the 22-year-old, he thinks Summerville will be keen to move to the top flight and believes Emery could be the perfect manager to develop his game further.
“He’s had an outstanding season hasn’t he?” Hutton told Villa News.
“His numbers are quite incredible. Having got that close to promotion, he probably wants to test himself at the highest possible level and he will want to be in the Premier League I’m pretty sure.
“Leeds fans won’t thank me for saying it and I’m sorry about it but unfortunately that is what happens. If Villa come in and test them with a £30million offer, it is probably something that they will look at because they will have to balance the books.
“They won’t want to lose him, but I think he could get into that Villa team and be another option for them. Don’t get me wrong, Morgan Rogers has done really well, Jacob Ramsey is there and they’ve got Moussa Diaby, Leon Bailey, they’ve got lots of options but that’s what you need in the Premier League.
“He’s definitely got the potential to get to the next level and with what Unai Emery did for Rogers, he’s been outstanding so I think he could really improve Summerville as a player.”
Will Aston Villa enter the transfer race to sign Leeds United gem Crysencio Summerville?
Profit and sustainability rules may mean that Emery and Villa aren’t able to make too many big-money additions at Villa Park this summer, but they will still be keen to add some genuine quality to their ranks ahead of next season.
While the Villans are already blessed with incredible depth in the final third of the pitch, they will still be keen to add one or two players. If nothing else, someone like Summerville can act as a rotation option once the Champions League gets up and running.

£30million is a lot of money to spend on a player who is yet to really prove himself in the top flight, but similar was said about Rogers in January and he has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.
Hopefully, Villa will renew their interest in Summerville this summer and find the money to bring him to Villa Park before another Premier League side manages to swoop in.
