Aston Villa news as medical claim emerges on £25m transfer target Ferdi Kadioglu

Fenerbache defender Ferdi Kadioglu should have no issues in passing a medical at Aston Villa, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that despite a torn thigh muscle back in September, the 24-year-old Turkey international’s recovery suggested that it was not serious and he managed to play the rest of the season without any issues.

Turkish outlet Aksam reported on 10 April that the Villa Park outfit were keen on the left-back who is available for £25.6million this summer.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

He tore his thigh muscle in September 2023, but returned quickly, being out of action for less than a month.

Based on his return timeline, it was very likely a Grade 1 injury and he had a clean bill of health since then.

Didn’t seem to impact him after his return either so I wouldn’t be too concerned about him failing a medical.

The club will be thoroughly gauging his performances over the season and probably before to ensure that everything checks out.

Aston Villa do not need Ferdi Kadioglu

While Kadioglu’s fitness is not really a concern, he may not be needed at Villa Park for next season.

If Lucas Digne and Alex Moreno are both staying at the club, that is decent enough competition at left-back.

If Unai Emery does want to upgrade, the 24-year-old is unlikely to be any better than Digne and shelling out that kind of money will not make sense.

As things stand, it’s unlikely for the club to amplify their interest, let alone enter conversations over his price tag.
