Emi Buendia could be set to make Aston Villa injury return against Crystal Palace
Emi Buendia has been spotted in first-team training and could now feature for Aston Villa against Crystal Palace as he continues his recovery from a lengthy injury layoff.
The Argentine suffered a significant knee injury in pre-season which has seen him ruled out for the entirety of the Premier League campaign.
In recent weeks he has finally returned to training on grass and has now been spotted, via Villa’s official website, working with the first team pre-Crystal Palace.
This could point towards a potential return on the final day as he steps up his recovery ahead of pre-season.
Could Emi Buendia make Aston Villa return v Crystal Palace?
Unai Emery has had a lot to contend with this season on the injury front which could have derailed the progress he has made.
This didn’t happen as the Villans reached a Conference League semi-final and have qualified for the Champions League.
Villa fans are looking forward to next season knowing that stars like Tyrone Mings, Boubacar Kamara and Buendia will be back.
The Argentine had a superb pre-season which had Villa fans excited but it all came crashing down after his injury.
Last season he scored just five goals and assisted two as he featured across every single Premier League game [FotMob].
His creativity is almost unmatched in the Villa squad which is combined with an excellent defensive work rate.

This saw him take 1,463 touches with 101 coming in the opposition box. He used these touches to make 780 passes while keeping an accuracy of 79 per cent.
Add to this with 146 duels won and 138 recoveries made, he is an all-action midfielder who certainly suits Emery’s set-up.
Villa fans will be hoping to see the Argentine in the squad against Palace on the final day.
