Aston Villa to tempt Denzel Dumfries with ‘big money’ offer amid Inter Milan transfer news
Bryan King believes Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries could be tempted by a “big money” move to Aston Villa.
The ex-Villa scout claims qualifying for the Champions League could help Unai Emery’s side to make this type of signing.
It comes after a report in Calcio Mercato (10 April) revealed that Villa hold an interest in Dumfries, with the Dutchman yet to agree on a new contract in Milan.
Inter are prepared to offer a salary of £3.4million to the player, and King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – feels that the money on offer in the Premier League could prove more tempting.
“You have always got to be looking to improve your squad and upgrade on what you have,” King said.
“This is where qualifying for the Champions League is so important because that will be key for a player like Dumfries. Inter Milan will be playing in the Champions League next season, so Dumfries will likely only want to leave for another club playing in the competition.
“But also, he might see it as a good move because everybody knows that is where the big money is, in the Premier League.”
Aston Villa could lure Denzel Dumfries to the Premier League to play under Unai Emery
Dumfries would be an excellent addition to the Villa squad.
Signing a player who is featuring regularly for the team on the verge of lifting the Serie A title would be a real statement of intent from Aston Villa.

It is yet another example of just how far they have come as a club and offers even more reason for supporters to be excited about the future under Emery.
