Aston Villa: Doctor issues Ollie Watkins injury worry
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins faces a risk of re-injury after his hamstring setback, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he will continue to be monitored behind the scenes to avoid any relapse.
The England attacker missed the Manchester City clash earlier in April but has fought it off since to lead the line for Unai Emery’s side.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“Hard to say if he’s 100% because no player is 100% this late in the season but the fact he was able to play roughly a week later and play well is a very good sign.
“The physios and coaches will be continuing to monitor him in training to make sure there aren’t signs of injury relapse.
“There does remain a small risk of re-injury but he’s now got in multiple games and does not appear to be showing any frailties.“
Ollie Watkins has been a game changer for Aston Villa
Watkins moved to Villa Park in the 2020-21 season and quickly became a key player for the team.
He has demonstrated his ability to score goals and create chances, contributing significantly to Aston Villa’s attacking play.
His performances have been crucial in helping Aston Villa’s quest to finish in the top four and quality for the Champions League.

The 28-year-old is in red-hot form, scoring four goals in his last three games in all competitions.
