Aston Villa: ‘Huge’ team news prediction shared as Unai Emery to make three changes v Wolves
Unai Emery could be set to make three changes to his Aston Villa starting lineup for the game against Wolves on Saturday (30 March), according to Dan Bardell.
Villa will take on their West Midlands rivals at Villa Park as they look to record their first Premier League win in three matches in their bid to earn Champions League football for next season.
The Villans boss could look to change things up a little bit from the 1-1 draw with West Ham on 17 March, with several players returning from international duty ahead of the game.
Bardell has predicted Diego Carlos to replace the injured Matty Cash, while he expects Moussa Diaby to come in for Jhon Duran and the returning Jacob Ramsey to play ahead of Morgan Rogers if he’s deemed fit to start.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “I think Diaby is probably at the point where he’s got to play now, he’s had a couple of assists in recent games when he’s come on.
“He scored against Ajax as well. I think Diaby has probably got to play. Wolves have got a lot of players missing, so it kind of feels like Villa have got to start on the front foot and get at them, see if they are fragile after what happened in the FA Cup against Coventry City.
“Villa’s best form of defence for me in this game is attack, so I’d like to see Diaby come in for Duran and play him in that support striker role with Ollie Watkins.
“I would expect it to be Martinez, Konsa, Carlos, Lenglet, and it’s a toss of a coin between Moreno or Digne. Then Luiz and Tielemans in midfield, Bailey and Ramsey if he’s fit enough to start will come straight in, and Diaby supporting Watkins.

“Rogers and Zaniolo would then be options off the bench to bring on if things aren’t going well. If Ramsey is back in, that’s a huge boost.
“It might take him some time to get going, but I did think we were starting to see the real Jacob Ramsey again before this injury. I think they would be the changes I’d expect to see.”
Unai Emery to freshen things up for Aston Villa v Wolves
There will certainly be a temptation for Emery to mix things up against Wolves after a couple of injury updates have emerged and some players have shown better form than others.
As Bardell points out, Diaby perhaps deserves to come back into the fold after he’s made a couple of goal contributions over the past few weeks.
The Villa boss will no doubt be looking for his side to come out of the traps quickly and put their West Midlands rivals under pressure as they look to pick up a victory at Villa Park.
