Manchester United slammed amid Emiliano Martinez and Ollie Watkins Aston Villa transfer claim

Manchester United should have made moves for Aston Villa duo Emiliano Martinez and Ollie Watkins.

That is according to former Villa scout Bryan King, who believes the Midlands club could get £100million for the pair.

Both have been regulars under Unai Emery this season, with Villa still fighting for a Premier League top four spot and Europa Conference League glory.

Speaking to Villa News, King said: “If I had been Manchester United, I’d have gone and got Martinez from Aston Villa, because Onana won’t win you anything. And I’d have gone and got Watkins too. I could see Rashford and Watkins doing quite well up front.”

Can Aston Villa hold on to Emiliano Martinez and Ollie Watkins?

Unsurprisingly, there has been talk of many stars leaving Villa Park this summer given how the season has gone for Emery and his players so far.

They are going really strong in the Premier League, with the Midlands club currently sitting in fourth place.

Moreover, they are into the latter stages of the Europa Conference League, with Lille up next in the quarter-finals.

Worryingly, however, Emery has been mooted to sell a key player or two after the club reported a £119.6million loss in their latest accounts.

They have, however, maintained that the figure is within the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

The league has taken firm action lately on clubs to have breached such rules, with both Everton and Nottingham Forest docked points this season.
