Aston Villa: Ollie Watkins faced being out for weeks with injury – Doctor
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins could’ve been ruled out for weeks had it been a serious injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the reason he was taken off in the 4-0 win over Ajax was only a cut and nothing more serious than that.
There were fears that it could’ve been a bad one for the England international, but he returned over the weekend against West Ham and played the 90 minutes.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“Considering he played the 90 minutes v West Ham, it doesn’t sound like anything more serious than a cut.
“Sometimes if they’re deeper or in a more precarious position where they can be stretched and pulled by movement it can be a concern but this doesn’t sound like either of those scenarios.
“He would’ve been out for weeks if that was the case.”
Huge injury relief for Aston Villa and Unai Emery
Watkins is undoubtedly the best player at Villa and will be valued the highest should any team look to sign him.
That’s why it comes as no surprise that he’s the first name on the team sheet for Unai Emery as he offers so much to the team in the final third.

This season alone, he’s scored 16 goals and provided 10 assists in 29 Premier League appearances for the Villans.
In other Aston Villa news, a doctor has issued an “unfortunate” response as footage has emerged of Tyrone Mings with an update on his current situation.
