Aston Villa: Doctor shares Diego Carlos injury update v Luton Town and Ajax

Aston Villa centre-back Diego Carlos is ruled out with a Grade 2 or Grade 3 hamstring tear, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that he could be back in training in the first week of March but is not expected back before the international break.

That would mean he is sure to miss the games against Luton Town and Ajax on 2 and 6 March respectively.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “This sounds like a Grade 2 or potentially even a Grade 3 out of 4 hamstring injury.

Would expect him to be back in training in the first week of March if everything is on track.

“His training intensity will then be increased gradually all along his rehab.

I still don’t see him returning before mid March so he’s expected to miss the games until then.

Carlos injury a key loss for Aston Villa and Unai Emery

The Brazilian defender has featured in 17 Premier League games this season, of which 13 have been right from the start.

Carlos suffered an injury setback earlier in the campaign as well and his rehabilitation had been inconsistent at the time.

The club will be hoping that’s not the case this time around and he’s back in action sooner rather than later.
