Aston Villa news: Double injury blow on the cards for Boubacar Kamara

Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara may have been facing another injury problem ahead of his ACL rupture, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has thrown light on his current recovery schedule as he’s set to be ruled out for months and until the end of the season.

For him to return back to a 100 per cent, it’s understood that it may take him as long as 18 months.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

He’s currently around a couple of weeks out of post-op so he will be working on recovering from the surgery and doing light mobility and strengthening work.

I highly doubt his drop in performance prior to the injury meant he was carrying an ACL injury.

He might have been carrying some other injury though which hindered performances before this big blow.

Kamara’s injury detrimental to Aston Villa

The 24-year-old has been a regular under Unai Emery and the Spaniard will hate to miss his services for the coming months.

He’s made 20 Premier League appearances this term and has been a rock in central midfield for the Villa Park outfit.

In his absence, there is a chance that Emery will ask John McGinn to revert to a deeper role or for Jacob Ramsey to play there as well.
