Aston Villa pick up heavy fine from FA, they need to be hit hard – Finance Guru

Dan Plumley has insisted that the FA has to hit clubs hard after Aston Villa were fined for failing to control their players against Brentford in the Premier League.

The FA confirmed the £180,000 fine on 2 February after two mass confrontations in the 2-1 win back in December after Ollie Watkins and Emi Martinez were involved in scuffles.

The finance expert admitted that it is a significant amount of money for any club, and they have to hit hard to try and stop these incidents from happening in games.

“As we’ve said with other wider fan troubles at the minute and concerns in the stands, it’s on the pitch as well,” he exclusively told Villa News.

“If you get into these situations, you’re going to have to get punished and as we’ve seen there with a particularly heavy fine, that’s the starting point and you have to hit them hard to stamp this out.

That is a significant amount of money for any club, so you can understand it and other authorities have got to do that or this stuff will carry on and never get solved.”

FA send message to Aston Villa

Unai Emery will never tell his players not to back one another up when moments such as these happen, and they are now a common occurrence in football.

You can go too far though, and Boubacar Kamara was slammed for getting too involved which led to him being sent off and picking up a needless suspension at the time.

This is another warning as the fines will only keep increasing if it happens again, that cannot happen.
