Doctor issues medical claim amid Aston Villa transfer links to Middlesbrough attacker Morgan Rogers
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Aston Villa.
Middlesbrough attacker Morgan Rogers should have no problem passing his medical at Aston Villa if needed, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he’s had an incredibly fit season in the Championship and the issue of him not playing in the Premier League before may be dealt with in different ways.
The Villa employees may seek metrics about his off-pitch habits and other aspects with regards to his fitness from their counterparts at other clubs, which in this case would be Middlesbrough.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“When it comes to a fitness perspective, he’s been incredibly fit and had an injury-free season.
“So, for his medical, this is as ideal as it gets and any club would like having him on board with regards to his fitness.
“However, as he’s not played in the Premier League before, the other factors that will be considered will be his off-pitch habits and often times clubs can get other metrics from their fitness and sports science counterparts at other clubs as well, if needed.“
The Daily Mail reported on 26 January that Villa have made three bids for the 21-year-old forward this month.
Rogers has made a name for himself in the Championship this season, but also proved he can compete with Premier League heavyweights.
In Boro’s 6-1 loss against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in midweek, he came off the bench to score a brilliant goal from outside the box.

Whether or not Villa can successfully convince the Championship club to part ways with their prized asset, remains to be seen.
