Aston Villa: Ty Bracey reacts as Chelsea hold behind-the-scenes talks over signing Jhon Duran in January
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Ty Bracey doesn’t believe Jhon Duran will leave Aston Villa to join Chelsea in the January transfer window.
It comes after Nathan Gissing, who works for the renowned Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, tweeted on 15 January that the Colombian international has been discussed internally at Stamford Bridge recently as a potential short-term option this month.
He said no final decision has been made yet, but if the Blues were to firm up their interest in the 20-year-old forward, then Villa would need to have a suitable replacement lined up.
Bracey believes Duran wouldn’t be likely to stay in the Premier League if he were to leave Villa Park following interest from Serie A giants AC Milan earlier this month.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I’ll be honest, I don’t see that deal happening.
“I don’t think he’ll stay in the Premier League if he leaves.
“Obviously, he’s been heavily linked with AC Milan, but I don’t think he goes to Chelsea, I really don’t.
“I can’t see that one happening if I’m honest.”
In other Aston Villa news, a broadcaster has suggested a potential loophole Villa could be exploiting in the transfer market.
