Aston Villa defender Matty Cash fitness update shared ahead of Everton clash

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Aston Villa.

Aston Villa defender Matty Cash is expected to be available for the full 90 minutes against Everton over the weekend, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the precautions for the Poland international when he had the illness would’ve been to isolate him and then impose high hygiene measures to ensure it did not spread.

However, with him returning during the FA Cup game and playing the whole 90 minutes against Middlesbrough, he’s good enough to play the full match against the Toffees.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

“Precautions would have been the same as any other illness – in the early stages, try to isolate and then use precaution with mask and high hygiene which includes handwashing.

These are often, but not always benign and players return quickly.

He was back at the weekend and there’s no reason to believe he will not be fit to play the full 90 minutes for the games ahead.

Cash has been an important first-team player for Unai Emery and he’s expected to start in every game he’s fit.

The 26-year-old has made 17 league appearances this season for Villa and has chipped in with two goals and an assist as well.

He’s also played further up the pitch in a few games, offering much-needed versatility to the Spaniard.

In other Aston Villa news, a Sky Sports pundit has savaged a first-team player and called him “Foolish” after what he did recently.
