Ty Bracey reacts to what exit-linked Douglas Luiz said about Aston Villa future

We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…

Ty Bracey is “chuffed” that Aston Villa are in a place where players don’t want to leave the club after what Douglas Luiz said about his future.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports on 6 December, the Brazilian international said he was “very happy” to hear about the rumours linking him with a move away, but that his focus is totally on Villa and that he has a lot of love for the club after “opening its doors” for him following his move from Manchester City in 2019.

The 25-year-old midfielder added that Unai Emery is an “incredible” manager and that the Spaniard is always there whenever he wants to discuss something with him.

Bracey believes the relationship between Luiz and Emery is “awesome” as he is the one Villans player that “can’t go anywhere”.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It’s really good to hear and it’s reassuring. The clubs are going to come knocking, it’s inevitable that it’s going to happen.

“We just have to remain focused and bat off interest that comes our way. But it’s nice to know we’re in that position where the players don’t want to leave and are happy to stay, so I’m chuffed with that.

“He said his relationship with Emery is like a father and son relationship, which is awesome and it’s good that he’s got that. He is the player for me that has to stay.

“Overall, he’s the one player for me that just can’t go anywhere, so to hear those words from him, I’m absolutely chuffed.”
