Broadcaster shares ‘massive’ loss ahead of Aston Villa showdown v Manchester City

We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…

Ty Bracey believes Rodri will be a “massive” miss for Manchester City when they face Aston Villa on Wednesday (6 December).

The Spanish international will be suspended for the clash at Villa Park after he picked up his fifth Premier League yellow card of the season in the 3-3 draw against Tottenham on Sunday (3 December).

The 27-year-old has been pretty much an ever-present in the Citizens’ midfield since he joined the club from Atletico Madrid in 2019.

Bracey is glad to see Rodri will be missing the game after he has been a solid performer for the Premier League champions just about every time he’s come up against Villa.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It’s huge. He always scores against us.

“I think he’s scored four goals against us, which is more than against any other club he’s played against.

“So, not having him involved is a massive presence for Man City to miss. I’m happy he’s not involved.

“He’s a very good player, one of the best central defensive midfielders in the world, if not the best right now. I’m glad he’s suspended.”
