Aston Villa transfer situation ‘likely to happen’ amid links to Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Aston Villa are likely to be linked with more players from Spain after reports have suggested they are looking to sign Inaki Williams in January, according to Ty Bracey.
Football Insider reported on 19 November that Villa are exploring a move for the 29-year-old Athletic Bilbao forward, whose brother Nico Williams was linked with the club over the summer, as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
It said the Ghana international’s age is not considered to be a problem for Unai Emery as he wants someone who is “ready to go” upon their arrival at Villa Park.

Bracey believes that with the Spanish boss and sporting director Monchi’s links to La Liga, it “wouldn’t be a surprise” to see the club linked with more players from the Mediterranean country moving forward.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I think we need one more attacking option, I think that’s important. Obviously, his brother didn’t want to come. But I understand the Basque side of things that goes on over there.
“I think it’s important that we add one more to the attacking ranks. Obviously, our attack are doing really well at the minute, but as I said, I think it’s important that we have competition in every position, I really do.

“Emery and Monchi have both come from that area, so that’s two of the staff who have been heavily involved in that part of the world.
“It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we do see a lot of links with players from La Liga. I think that’s probably something that’s likely to happen.”
