Aston Villa ace Ezri Konsa will be ‘hungry’ after international disappointment
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Ezri Konsa will be “hungry” for game-time with England after failing to make his debut during the international break, according to Ty Bracey.
The 26-year-old was called up to the Three Lions squad for the first time by Gareth Southgate after Brighton captain Lewis Dunk pulled out of the team.
But the Villa centre-back didn’t manage to earn his first cap for the national team as they beat Malta 2-0 and drew 1-1 with North Macedonia.

Bracey believes Konsa just needs a chance to show the England boss that he can fit into the system as he tipped the defender to go on to become a regular fixture in the side.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It’s just getting that experience. He was part of the squad, he’s got to train with the best in the country.
“It would’ve been a great experience for him, so I’m over the moon and delighted for him. But he’ll definitely be hungry for that game-time and that will come from good performances.

“He just needs to play some minutes for England, show Southgate he can fit into the system and I think we’ll see him frequently if I’m honest. He’s calm and composed and that’s exactly what England need at the back.
“It was probably disappointing for him not to play, but he will be over the moon that he got to train with the guys too I should imagine.”
