Ty Bracey shares verdict on Cameron Archer Aston Villa exit after what he did last week
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Aston Villa made the right decision from a business perspective to sell Cameron Archer to Sheffield United despite what he did last week, according to Ty Bracey.
The 21-year-old forward, who joined the Blades for £18million over the summer, scored a superb goal from outside of the box in his side’s 2-1 victory over Wolves on 4 November.
Villa included a buy-back clause in the deal for the England under-21 international, meaning the academy product could still have a future at Villa Park if he does well in South Yorkshire, having so far registered two Premier League goals this season.

Bracey believes the deal worked well for both the Villans and Archer at the time and he has full confidence in the decisions that are being made by the club’s recruitment team.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “What a goal it was. I personally think that the decision was heavily influenced by FFP. They got a decent fee for him with a buy-back clause, it was a great piece of business.
“But he obviously wants first-team minutes and he did really well out on loan. I kind of see how it worked really well for both parties. Again, it’s one of those things where it was the right business decision at the time.

“He scored a hell of a goal, but it’s one of things where, if he comes back he comes back and, if he doesn’t, I wish him all the best. But I’m behind Unai Emery and the recruitment system, I think we’ve got a really good system working there.
“Obviously, Johan Lange has gone to Tottenham, but I have no qualms with the recruitment team, I think they’re doing a great job. I’m behind them in whatever decision is made by them.”
In other Aston Villa news, a broadcaster believes the club have made a “statement of intent” after an Emery development has emerged.
