Aston Villa: Ty Bracey rages at ‘Childish’ Jhon Duran after reported spat with Emery
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Jhon Duran is “childish” following a reported spat with Unai Emery, according to Ty Bracey.
As reported by Colombian outlet Noticias RCN (23 October), a site with 8.5million followers on X, Duran is in a dispute with the club and Emery over a lack of game time. He then deleted all his Aston Villa-related posts on his Instagram, suggesting a spat of some kind.
The 19-year-old was left out of the squad for the West Ham victory entirely and has played just 67 minutes of Premier League football this season. The Colombian international has scored four goals in all competitions this season, including an 87th-minute equaliser in Villa’s 3-1 win against Crystal Palace in September.
Bracey, while admitting the specifics of the spat remain unclear, suggested Duran focus his frustrations in the right way, but warned that he could be finished at the club if he doesn’t respect Emery.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Whether you play good football or not, it doesn’t guarantee you a start every week. If you’re not performing in training or if you’re not doing as expected.
“If you want to go on social media and delete your posts, it’s just childish stuff. It’s childish. We don’t know specifics, but what we do know is he deleted the posts. What does that achieve?

“If [he is in a dispute], then it’s something that shouldn’t come out to the fans. It should have stayed under wraps. He’s just adding fuel to the fire and it’s not going to do Duran any favours.
“It’s not something that requires attention. Emery knows what he’s doing, everyone at the club knows that. If he’s made that decision, Duran’s got to respect it. If you don’t respect it, you’re done.
“You’ve got to channel that passion in the right way. If you’re not getting selected, you need to be hungry and keep fighting more, not make a fuss about it.”
In other Aston Villa news, Nicolo Zaniolo’s investigation result has been predicted with the star tipped to continue in Unai Emery’s starting lineup.
