NSWE back Villa Park redevelopment after £100m Aston Villa news - Finance Expert

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist, he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa.

Dan Plumley has hailed the redevelopment of Villa Park after £100million Aston Villa plans were given the green light on 29 September.

Birmingham Live reported the news with the renovation of the Academy building set to kick works off before the rebuild of the current North Stand.

The finance expert admitted that investment in infrastrcutre is now “really important” in football with NSWE said to be backing the plans fully.

“In a similar way we’ve spoke about the positive strides West Ham have made, Villa are also in that position of a lot of momentum going behind the club at all angles,” he exclusively told Villa News.

“The management, the team seems to be working well, they’ve made some astute signings on the pitch, you’ve got redevelopment off the pitch, you’ve got the director coming in with good track records.

Infrastructure and investment is really important now in football and that can only be seen as a positive and we know the owners are backing that as well.

It just seems, at the minute, the club is in a really good spot and looking to kick on.”

The North Stand rebuild will see the overal capacity of Villa Park increase from 42,657 to 50,065 and is set to begin in June 2024 until just before the 2026/27 Premier League season.
