Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey in contention to play v Legia Warsaw – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Aston Villa...
Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jacob Ramsey is in contention to make a return from injury against Legia Warsaw, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
Unai Emery’s men travel to the Polish Army Stadium to take on Legia in a UEFA Europa League group stage clash on Thursday (21 September).
The injury expert claims that the 22-year-old has cleared the majority of the markers which should clear him for a return to first-team football.

Speaking about his injury and lack of match fitness, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“It sounds like he has cleared the majority of markers to get back to training so I wouldn’t expect him to have lighter sessions if he’s already been able to get through them with any issues.
“There’s a good chance that he’s now in contention to play for Villa after missing several games.
“He’s been out with an ankle injury but has trained with the group for around a week so that’s an indicator he’s on the right track.”

According to Express and Star on 20 September, Ramsey was in training on Tuesday at Bodymoor Heath ahead of the European clash.
While he’s unlikely to be thrown into the starting eleven, Emery will certainly welcome him back to the first-team fold.
With European commitments, he will feel the need to rotate his squad more often and Ramsey offers versatility which could see him coming off the bench for a number of different players.
In other Aston Villa news, a senior attacker is now a doubt for the upcoming games after he suffered a Grade 3 muscle tear.
