International break comes at ‘great time’ for Aston Villa to ‘learn from our mistakes’ – Ty Bracey

We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…

The international break has come at a “great time” for Aston Villa to iron out mistakes that have made them look “completely out of their depths”, according to Ty Bracey.

For most football fans, the international break is an unwanted pause in the more exciting Premier League season, but Unai Emery, off the back of a poor performance in a 3-0 loss to Liverpool, will relish the chance to make improvements ahead of their clash against Crystal Palace when the season resumes.

With significant injuries challenging Emery, including Alex Moreno and Jacob Ramsey, the pause in league fixtures could provide Villa with the needed respite to reorganise and fix their obvious defensive issues.

Amid inconsistent form in the Premier League following poor performances against Liverpool and Newcastle, Ty Bracey is excited at the prospect of a pause in fixtures as it offers the chance for Emery to make these changes, noting that his men have the chance to “learn from their mistakes”.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I think it’s a great time to get some players back in the mix. That’s really important and getting players back to full fitness will be important.

“I don’t know if Alex Moreno or Jacob Ramsey will be ready after the international break but it’s important to have those guys back fit.

“We just have to learn from our mistakes [against Liverpool]. Two games so far where we’ve looked completely out of our depth. We weren’t great against Liverpool or Newcastle.

“I don’t mind us losing, as long as we look like we have a game plan. It just didn’t look like there was much going on and Liverpool were just better than us.”
