£20m clause could be forced into Aston Villa sale of Aaron Ramsey amid Burnley transfer development

Aaron Ramsey will be “as good as” his younger brother Jacob, while a move to newly-promoted Burnley would be ideal as long as Aston Villa include a buy-back clause, according to Ty Bracey.

Ramsey is one of Villa most promising prospects but looks to be moving to Burnley with The Athletic reporting (9 August) that he had secured a £14million move to join Vincent Kompany’s side.

The deal will reportedly include a buy-back clause, with Unai Emery stating, via Fabrizio Romano (11 August): “The idea is to have the possibility to recover him if he progresses over the next year or for more, deserving to play and come here.”

Bracey has welcomed the deal as a no-lose scenario for Villa and claimed that the 20-year-old being sold in this manner is better than sending him out on loan again.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I think he was definitely one of our best prospects for the future. He’s still very, very young and I think Villa have a buy-back clause in any deal.

“That’s the plan, I don’t think it’ll go ahead unless we put that clause in.

“But I think he will do well. He’ll get Premier League minutes and work under Vincent Kompany, who’s learned from the best in football and had a great season with Burnley and got them back.

“I think if he can get first-team minutes every week in a very experienced footballer in Vincent Kompany, then go for it.

“But only if we put a buy-back clause in there. If we could buy him back for £20-25million or something like that.

“if he’s made that progress then I’m all for buying him back. Forget a loan in the Championship again. If we can get a bit of money for him now, but if he progresses well we can buy him back. If Burnley doesn’t work out then, then it’s fine as he’s already off the books.

“I think he’ll be great and one day he’ll be as good as Jacob. I wish him well.”
