Aston Villa transfer news as Iling-Junior bid claim made amid £21.4m Juventus valuation

Aston Villa are joined by Everton, Brighton and Wolves in the race to sign Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior, per Calciomercato.

According to the Italian media outlet [30 July], the Serie A giants want a fee worth £21.4million in order to part ways with the 19-year-old and the Villans are prepared to make an offer.

The Englishman spent nine years at the Chelsea academy before Juventus snapped him up in 2020 and made him a first-team player.

Some talent

Villa have made some exceptional signings since Unai Emery has taken over and a lot of that has to do with the club’s ability to spend and the manager’s pull.

He’s signed players he’s either previously targeted or worked with and his track record thus far has shown that he’s the right man to take this team forward.

It remains to be seen if Iling-Junior is someone he’s recommended or if that’s someone that’s been suggested to him by the recruitment team.

Clubs tend to look to sign players with high potential at cost-effective valuations before selling them for big money later.

If Villa make that big jump up and start competing with the elite regularly then there may not be any reason to do that and he could go on to become a first-team regular.

However, if they are serious about signing him, they need to get the job done quickly as there are a lot of teams in the race to secure his services.

In other Aston Villa news, a first-team ace has emerged as the “Master of the Dark Arts” for Unai Emery and has become the club’s most underrated player.
