Aston Villa play to strengths with Spain pre-season trip – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist, he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa.
Dan Plumley has insisted that Aston Villa are playing to their strengths with a pre-season trip to Spain to deliver the best financial gains this summer.
The Villans will take on Villareal before the Premier League season starts, with a natural connection to the country through Unai Emery, Pau Torres and Monchi.
The finance expert admitted that the multi-club model of V Sports also comes into play as they look to expand their brand around Europe, with these trips helping.

“I think you play to your strengths,” he exclusively told Villa News.
“You’ve got to use the resources available to you to deliver the best gains and obviously the connection with Emery and playing talent, that’s a natural fit.
“You’ve then got the brand proposition going the other way, if any club going anywhere in terms of pre-season tours, for the most part, if you’re a Premier League club, there are some branding and commercial opportunities attached to that.

“Again, that’s the market we are in at the minute with world football, it makes sense.
“You play to your strengths so there is a natural connection there, and obviously, with Villa, they have the multi-club aspect to that with the stakes they have in other clubs around Europe and plans to go further, so it’s doing both.”
In other Aston Villa news, the future of this loanee hangs in the balance as contract talks await.
