Aston Villa may have used BK8 controversy to get better financial deal – Finance Expert

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist, he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa.

Dan Plumley has insisted that Aston Villa may have used the controversy surrounding BK8 to secure themselves a better financial package.

NSWE and the club are facing backlash following the confirmation of their new sponsor, the same brand which was thrown to the kerb by Norwich City only a couple of years ago.

The finance expert admitted that this was front and centre, the best deal on the table and it was a money decision made by those in charge of the club.

“You use everything you’ve got to hand in a negotiation,” he exclusively told Villa News.

You can inflate the figure as they could say they may get some stick to this so they’re going to have to pay a bit more.

“It may be a conversation that has been had, and it’s really tricky because you completely understand the nature of the criticism, but this is just front and centre, the best offer on the table and it’s a money decision.”

With the shirt rolling out and no signs of this train stopping, it looks as though Villa will not be going back on this decision, regardless of controversy.

It will be interesting to see if NSWE address this, with complaints falling on deaf ears so far.

In other Aston Villa news, the future of this loanee hangs in the balance as contract talks await.
