Aston Villa show ruthless streak as Christian Purslow exit confirmed - Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist, he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa.
Dan Plumley has admitted that Aston Villa are showing a ruthless streak with their confirmed boardroom changes this summer.
It has been confirmed that Christian Purslow has left the club, with the likes of Monci and Chris Heck taking up new roles alongside NSWE and Unai Emery.
Aston Villa are going into a new era under the Spaniard, with European football finally returning to Villa Park with changes in place to make sure it sticks around.
“This is the other side of it,” he exclusively told Villa News.
“There has been new people in, there is other people behind the scenes and a reshuffle, but then people have to go out so it makes sense.
“Whether or not that is a good thing is in time with the performances and where Villa go, but it is natural business change with a new direction and that can be really positive.
“You have to balance the two and Villa seem to be on a clear path of where they want to get to and if everyone is pulling in the same direction and the appointments get you there, you look back and think that you had to do that regardless of the experience of that person.
“They had to be ruthless, and there is a ruthlessness to Villa that we have perhaps not seen in the last few years.”
NSWE have been ruthless with their decisions early on this summer, but it is important they back Emery after pulling off his appointment last season with the changes he wants.
Monchi was a clear example of this, and fingers crossed that it pays off for the Villans.
In other Aston Villa news, the future of this loanee hangs in the balance as contract talks await.
