Aston Villa changes at the very top after another new appointment – Finance Expert

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist, he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa.

Dan Plumley has insisted that NSWE are making changes at the very top of Aston Villa with the latest appointment of Monchi this week.

The Spaniard has followed Chris Heck into the club this summer, with Unai Emery getting his say with some critical appointments with changes being made early.

The finance expert admitted that it is an exciting time for the clubs and its fans with European football also returning to Villa Park from next season.

“Absolutely, you have got to be that up by delivering,” he exclusively told Villa News.

“His track record is impressive, you look at Sevilla’s record in the Europa League in particular and what he’s done there. There are other shake-ups at Villa, with other people coming in and it seems part of a reshuffle right at the top and setting a new strategy and vision, he is obviously very close with Emery, he knows him so that’s a good connection and they speak very highly of each other.

If you can get everybody pulling in the right direction, it is an exciting time moving forward with European football and these kind of appointments, you’re looking at how that will work behind the scenes in how they will move forward and most people are looking at that and thinking that is a really solid appointment.

The price you pay for him will depend on performance, but in the grand scheme of things given the revenue of the club, it may be a small price to pay if he delivers some real gains on the pitch linked to his role.”

In other Aston Villa news, the future of this loanee hangs in the balance as contract talks await.
