Aston Villa transfer news as winger hunt to continue past Marco Asensio
Aston Villa will continue their hunt to sign a new winger this summer after being hit by bad news, according to Charlie Haffenden.
The Birmingham Mail journalist has relayed the news that Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio has chosen Paris Saint-Germain over the Villans this summer.
Unai Emery will keep pushing for a new signing in that area though, with a winger wanted at Villa Park ahead of European football returning to the club.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Heffenden shared the latest from Emery and Villa after being hit by their first roadblock of the summer already.
“Marco Asensio has chosen PSG over Aston Villa and will sign a long-term contract,” he wrote.
“The Villans will move onto other targets as Unai Emery wants a winger.”

Strengthen.
This is an area that certainly needs to be added too.
Emery has played very centrally since arriving, with the likes of John McGinn and Jacob Ramsey playing as inverted wingers with Leon Bailey and others playing centrally up top.
With the possibility of some exits such as Bertrand Traore, Emery will want to take this squad from average Premier League options to one packed with European talent.
There are already many in that category, but the need to strengthen in depth is certainly needed for the Spaniard, who has worked his magic so well.
Asensio would have been the perfect addition after his years at Real Madrid, winning the Champions League on numerous occasions.
Instead, it was not meant to be with Paris Saint-Germain sniffing and Emery will need to look elsewhere to get his new attacking star in the bag this summer.
