Aston Villa defender Matty Cash not responding well to physio, mooted to miss Fulham clash - Injury Expert

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Aston Villa...

Aston Villa defender Matty Cash does not seem to be responding well to the physio and is expected to miss the Fulham clash, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert believes that his expected date of return was earlier but he’s perhaps not recovering as well as he was expected to.

Cash has not featured for Unai Emery’s side since the international break after he picked up a calf/shin injury while playing for Poland.

Speaking about his extended absence, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News, “It’s really hard to say what has caused it individually but there’s always variance with returns and this one seems to be on how he’s been responding to physio.

“That looks to be the case with him so we can expect him to be out.”

The 25-year-old has been a regular for Emery’s side this term, playing in 23 Premier League games.

The last time he featured for his club in the Premier League was on 18 March when Villa picked up three easy points against Bournemouth by a 3-0 scoreline.

In his absence, the Spaniard has deployed Ashley Young at right-back and the veteran former England international has done an exceptional job in terms of attacking as well as defending.

In other Aston Villa news, a senior player may never feature for the club again after recent news emerges, making a summer exit very much on the cards.
