Exclusive: Ty Bracey not concerned World Cup break could stall Aston Villa momentum
We’re delighted to welcome Villa View host Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Unai Emery should be able to use the World Cup break to his advantage so fears it has come at a bad time for Aston Villa are unfounded, says Ty Bracey.
The new boss has only had time to oversee three games since he arrived at the club, but immediately got six points from six in the league, so the international break that stretches until late December has the potential to stall that much-needed progress.
However, given that the former Villarreal manager has arrived during the season Bracey believes the time on the training ground with the squad will be of greater benefit ahead of the January transfer window and the rest of the campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News he said of the season’s interruption: “You could look at it that way [inconvenient timing], but I think it’s a good chance for Emery to spend a lot of time with the players.
“They’re going away to Dubai to train and have some behind closed doors friendlies.
“It’s important that we do that and Emery really instills his style of football into the players that he’s got in the team.
“And then he can get a grasp from there, from what he’s seen in the games we’ve played in that month off for the World Cup, and see exactly where he needs to do some work.”

While plenty of Villa fans’ attention will turn to the fortunes of their respective nations in Qatar, Emery is bound to be fully focused on the job at hand.
He has already sparked a revival in the Premier League, and despite the loss in the Carabao Cup the atmosphere around the club has lifted significantly from the Steven Gerrard reign.
If that improvement was possible from just a few days on the training ground then there will be high hopes for what he can achieve with these players after the unique opportunity for a preseason through November and December.
In other Aston Villa news, Bracey believes Robin Olsen hasn’t been good enough and the club needs a replacement back-up keeper.
